Every time I sign up for a new music festival I create a playlist to get me excited for the shows. Timber, by the same folks that put on Doe Bay Music Festival, is made up of mostly Seattle and regional artists. I'm especially excited because it's so close to Seattle! The usual 3-4 hour trek can be exhausting and tedious and it'll be nice to attend something so close. I'll report back with tons of photos but for now, enjoy my Spotify playlist. There's still tix if anyone wants to go!
Upcoming Poster Shows
I've got 2 of them. Every year I participate in the Sasquatch Poster Show. Selected designers choose an artist to design a poster for. The bands get a few prints and all the posters get displayed at a party before the music festival. Not sure what the date will be yet, but I'll keep you updated. Also, I've been selected to participate in Seattle's first ever Art Crank. That one will be sometime in June. Not sure there's been a date set yet. I'll blog about my entries as I get them completed and find out about show dates and locations!
MSMR & Jessie Ware
Andrew and I caught MSMR and Jessie Ware at the Crocodile on Tuesday with a few friends. It was the 2nd time we had seen them and they were far better than last time.
#1 the Croc is awesome for intimate shows, we were able to get up closer even thou it was sold out. Sold out shows at the Croc can be a nightmare but the crowd was easy going, only a little bit of Bro Dancing, and everyone was excited to see an opener for once.
#2 MSMR has gained some more fans since we last saw them and they also seem more comfortable playing together. It was obvious they were having a good time.
Jessie Ware was beautiful and talented, just a little too mellow after a long work day. Note to self: don't take a spin class 30 min before a show, you will be a walking zombie!
Next show: Marina and the Diamonds, Showbox Market, May 2nd
